video tech notes

Repetition
It’s okay to repeat words and make sure to use conversational words.
Example (good): An accident occurred on the highway killing five people. Late last night an accident occurred just outside o f portage resulting in the death of a family of five.
Example (bad): An accident occurred on the highway killing five people. Late last night just outside of portage the death of a family occurred.
Quotes
Make sure that the listeners know that the words said are exact from the speaker. I f you can help it try not to use direct quotations and give the general idea another way. Make sure you let the audience know that you are done with your quote.
Example (good): (say quote) that’s what Ryan winters said about. . . . .
Example (bad): (say quote) they won the game today. . . .(You should let the audience know you are done with direct quote)
Facts or Opinions?

Facts don’t need attribution, but opinions do need attribution .If you are in doubt make sure to let the listeners know where you got your information from.

Example (good): Animals can talk and I got this information from the world health organization.

Example (bad): Animals can talk. . . .
Aiding the Listeners
You can assist the half listeners by repeating important parts at the end and use a person’s first/last name at the end of the story instead of complicated words.
Example (good): Josh Harvey and Tasha Harvey won five million dollar lotto yesterday. Josh spent it on a mansion and Tasha donated the rest.
